Bringing smiles to lives!

Generally life gives us what we never expect. Sometime it makes us cry and sometime unfolds unexpected happiness and joy. We are betrayed from those whom we trust the most. Tears are gifted from our loved ones. Anything can happen anytime in this planet dramatically. In this race where brothers are not for brothers and fathers seek their own pleasures, how can we find a shed a place of rest, an assurance of belongingness? Every individual has been racing for an answer, pilgrims have walked very far for the seek of assurance and an eternal happiness, but alas! No one has found the assurance, "I am the life, come to me oh! heavy ladened" and the eternal happiness with God. Every now and then, a life is being destroyed, children are being fatherless, girl child are being killed. Life is peculiar but in this peculiar life if we pay effort to see a father filled with limitless love and care, we can know we have reasons to smile and opportunities to add smiles to lives. I know ...

Arise and Depart!

Image
T he hour is approaching when the message will come to us, as it comes to all "Arise, and go forth from the home in which you have dwelt, from the city in which you have done your business, from your family, from your friends. Arise and take your last journey." And what know we of the journey? And what we know of the country to which we are bound? A little we have read thereof, and somewhat has been revealed to us by the Spirit; but how little do we know of the realms of the future! We know that there is a black and stormy river called "Death." God bids us cross it, promising to be with us. And, after death, what comes? What wonder-world will open upon our astonished sight? What scene of glory will be unfolded to our view? No traveller has ever returned to tell. But we know enough to of the heavenly land to make us welcome our summons thither with joy and gladness. The journey of death may be dark, but we may go forth on it fearlessly, knowing that God is with u...

YESHWANT LOHAR, THE ABANDONED BOY!

Image
Yeshwant Lohar  On the 27th of February 2014, I was busy in my office. A woman named Mina Lohar came to me with a request of accepting a child in our home. She is a widow and worship's with us in the Kamlabagan Church of Christ. She is around 65 years old and goes to the tea garden to pluck tea leaves for her living. It was really heart touching to know the love of Jesus reflected to this sister. She has a hut made up of hey and bamboo which hardly consists two persons. But I was amazed to see the rooms she had in her heart. While she was on her way back from the worship service, she encountered a boy weeping by the side of the road. He seemed to be new to the place and was very afraid even to talk with this sister. But when sister Mina came near him and gently touched his head and with a soft voice and asked him about himself, he gathered the daring to speak to this lady and moreover he felt like I am safe with her. The first word that this boy spoke out was "I am hung...

What should we provide to our Children? Part - II

Image
# 2. Provide TEACHING, GUIDANCE & INSTRUCTION "Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6)  Training our children in the way God wants them to be trained is the most important step we can dare. Most of the time our children are well equipped with every standards of the world but in the Christian aspects they are nothing more than just the name "Christian". I personally have witnessed Peter, John & James spending their time in the liquor shop, a big cross on the neck, a Cross tattoo in hand but found drunk in the bar. Mary has recently aborted a child. Martha is a single mother. Jonathan & Jennifer are in a living relationship for a month, after one month same Jonathan accompanies with Juli and Jennifer with another bla bla... Why all of us encounter this problem? Here is an answer: "O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own st...

What should we provide to our Children?

Image
I guess most of us have got married and have children. We all understand what it means to have children and moreover the joy of being father and mother. Every moment we spend with our children worth more than anything. Every tiredness are gone when we see our children smiling. Nothing can buy us the happiness which we get through our children. BUT children are also the ones who hurt us more than anything in the world. Parents who had a single room where they raised their four children. They had no problem adjusting with the four children in such a small room, happily they were raised, educated and finally they got married now the same old parents starts to irritate and disappoint them. Even they don't have rooms for their parents in a house which has four rooms.  Their father raise them (four) all in a single room but now their four roomed house doesn't have place for their old parents. Not everywhere but in many places I have witnessed old parents are treated as the torn ...

The Purpose of Sunday Service in the Church!

Image
A s  we read in Acts 20:7 it is recorded 'Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.' This scripture is important to those wishing to worship the Lord acceptably today for it reveals a pertinent fact concerning the worship in the Church as established by the Holy Spirit through the apostles. First this Scripture indicates that the day of worship had been changed from the Sabbath (Saturday) to the first day of the week (Sunday). Why? It seems obvious that the day was to be memorial to the Lord's resurrection and to the opening of the Church, both of which came to pass on a Sunday when the Church was opened and the Holy Spirit was given to men. It is expressly stated 'We having been assembled to break bread'. Nothing could be more intelligible. The Church had come together for the purpose of breaking bread. The term 'breaking bre...

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN BAPTISM? II

The Significance of Baptism This present writing is used not as a discussion so much as a compilation and entitling of the scriptures that have to do with baptism. You will get a comprehensive view from God's own presentation of the subject. The text is from the New International Version  of the Bible, with  explanatory notes, as well as comments where the text seems to indicate the need. A Freeing from Sin to Receive the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:37 - 38 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles 'Brothers, what shall we do?' Peter replied 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that YOUR SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' A Portrayal of Believing to be Saved - Acts 16:29 - 33  The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?' ...

What is involved in Baptism?

We read in Ephesians 4:5 that we were called to one baptism, a fact overlooked or denied by vast numbers of people in christendom. There are numerous ceremonies performed in christendom in the name of baptism: laying a moist hand on the head; sprinkling a little water on the head; pouring water on the heard; total immersion in water; total immersion in running water; immersion in water for those already dead; triple immersion in water (one each for Father, Son and Holy Spirit); immersion in water as an initiation rite into the local congregation; immersion in water as a sign of repentance. Some even claim that an immersion in water is required in order to receive the spiritual gift of speaking unintelligible sounds that are called the gift of 'speaking in tongues'. But the Lord's /Spirit says there is ONE baptism! Baptism is clearly depicted, as well as its purpose and significance in some 25 verses (from Acts and the Epistles) of Scripture. Baptism with the Holy Spirit...

GREAT LOVE FOR THE WORD OF GOD!

Image
Let us simply consider the unbelievable love of an individual for the word of God. After reading this, let us start pondering what have we done for the word of God... "William McPherson was severely injured when a charge of dynamite exploded in front of his face. Although he survived the blast, he lost his eyes, hands and the feeling in parts of his face. He realized how much the Bible meant to him and he greatly needed its strength. He could not read it in Braille because of his artificial hands. He tried to place his lips on the dots but they were numb. He found he could use his tongue to decipher the Moon Type System of dashes. Although the metal left his lips and tongue bleeding and very sore, he prayed to God to help him continue to learn just one letter of the alphabet. In the 65 years that followed, he read the Bible through four times with his tongue. "  What love for the Bible! His example leaves us without excuse... Joseph Khati pay per click advertisin...

Great Statements About the Bible!

Image
T hings which are easily accessible are less valued and are merely given a deep thought into. The inevitable word of God that we have today has been made possible in the ground of myriad sacrifices. Let us have a quick look towards the statements that some of the Independent scholars and well known individual have made in connection to the BIBLE. "The Bible is no mere book, but a living Creature with a power the conquers all that oppose it."              Napoleon   "The whole hope of human progress is suspended on the ever growing influence of the Bible." W.H Seward   "The Bible is the sheet- anchor of our liberties." Ulysses S. Grant   "Bible reading is an education in itself." Alfred Lord Tennyson "I thoroughly believe in a university education; but I believe a knowledge of the Bible without a college education is more valuable than a college course without the Bible." Rousseau   "There are more sure m...

THE FACES OF LIFE!

Image
W e all enjoy a different and unique kind of living, which we call life. Ever since its existence life consists various colours and parts. Some are very happy with their life and some are frustrated, desperate and have leaded to self destructions and devastations. Ever since the origin of life, people have been seeking the paths and secrets for mental satisfaction and peace. But do we think the magazine we have just read has the correct answer or the channel we have just scrolled has the right information? I don't think so, then where can I be myself? Where is the place, where I have no one to interfere, complain and bite? Such things in life has laden us with grave burdens. We strive but return with the lack of results. Everyday problems grow and are resulting chronic. Our dear ones are leaving us, our loved belongings are being taken away from us. We try, but there is no one to hear us. Everyone is in the que to disprove you; if you are ingrained with such, Here is an ans...

EVANGELISM IS THE ANSWER!

Evangelism requires preaching the Gospel, converting souls from sin, and spreading salvation. This is how Christ lived, what he taught, and what His followers practiced. The full message of the Gospel was preached for the first time in approximately A.D. 33, and within less than 30 years it had been taken to all the world. What a story! Jesus was always on the move during His personal ministry. He went to the villages and to the cities. he spoke to the multitudes and to individuals. He used physical acts to teach spiritual lessons. No man ever spoke with greater authority or showed the power of God more clearly in His mighty works. Truly, He was the Son of God. Calling twelve men, known as apostles, Jesus taught them and trained them to carry on His work after His death, burial, and resurrection. Some of His final words were, " Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all ...

JESUS IN HISTORY!

pay per click advertising Christianity, far from being a philosophy or merely some ethical system, is pre-eminently a redemptive system. It is belief in Christ as the son of God who will redeem us from sin and raise us from the dead to an eternal judgment. Thus an investigation into the genuineness of the claims of the Christian religion must begin with the historical reality of Jesus, for apart from him, redemption from sin and a resurrection from the grave become mere “pie in the sky by and by.” I. EVIDENCE FOR THE HISTORICAL JESUS A. FROM PAGAN SOURCES 1.Thallus. A Samaritan born historian named Thallus lived and worked in Rome about the middle of the first century (c. 52 AD). Though his works are lost to us, Julius Africanus, a writer of the early third century, was familiar with Thallus’ history of Greece. Africanus in commenting on the darkness which fell over the land during the crucifixion of Jesus (Mark 15:33) said that, “Thallus, in the third book of...

IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY DEVOTION!

In the run of family necessities and daily demands we skip the very important things behind. When children grow older they need space, time and monetary assistance, we happily assist them in this regard but when it is time for us to train them preparing them for eternity, we lack. Regular Bible study and devotion are essential to anyone's spiritual devotion and spiritual life. This includes Christians whether or not they have children, and it includes children who are in the embryonic stage of whatever their spirutual life will be. Yes, public worship plays an important part in this; however, public worship is not daily, there are times when a more private setting is necessary, and at times children need to worship and study God's word solely with their families. Devotion is defined as "an act of prayer or private worship"; or "a religious exercise or practice other than the regular corporate worship of a congregation." The word itself never appears in th...

MIRACLES THAT JESUS PERFORMED

I. WHAT IS A MIRACLE? Something That Occurs That Is Contrary To What Happens In Nature (Naturally) and That Christians Usually Attribute To The Power Of God. In The N.T. A Miracle Is Also Known As A "Sign," "Wonder," Or "Power." II. THE PURPOSE OF CHRIST'S MIRACLES Principally The Miracles Of Jesus Were A Response Of Compassion Upon encountering Human Need. They Show His Person, Character, And His Divine Love. At The Same Time It Is Evident That Such Miracles Authenticated Jesus' Mission As the Messiah (The Christ). See John 20:30-31. III. THE MIRACLES OF JESUS MANIFESTED HIS POWER IN FOUR (4) AREAS Over Sickness And Disease - There Are 17 Physical Healings Mentioned In the 4 Gospels; For Example: The Lame, The Paralytic, The Blind, The Deaf, Etc. Over The Forces Of Nature - There Are 9 Cases Listed In The Table That Follows. Even In These Cases The Miracles Focused Upon Relieving Human Necessity Rather than Any Attempt To Exalt...

WHAT IS YOUR STAND? (PART III)

A Review of Positions Opposed to the Use of Instruments in Christian Worship. 1. Instruments should not be used in Christian worship because this violates the principle of seeking to restore New Testament Christianity. It is widely accepted that instruments were not used in Christian worship when the inspired apostles were in charge of worship assemblies. Everett Ferguson quotes J. W. McKinnon’s doctoral dissertation at Columbia University which places the introduction of instruments in the tenth century (12). If we seek, then, to restore New Testament Christianity in worship, as well as in doctrine, organization, and membership, then we certainly would not use instruments. Since instruments had been used both by themselves and with singing under the Jewish system, it seems clear that abstaining from the use of instruments in either fashion under the New Covenant was intentional. If, then, one is seeking to be the church of the New Testament, as restoration churches do,...

SOME TRUTHS OF LIFE!

Do not let someone become a priority in your life when you are just an option in their life. Relationships work best when they are balanced.  Do not make promises when you are in joy, do not reply when you are sad. Do not take decisions when you are angry, Think twice, act wise. Never explain yourself to anyone because the person who likes you doesn't need and the person who dislikes you won't believe it  We make them cry who care for us  We cry for those who never care for us and  We care for those who will never cry for us This is the truth of life, its strange but true  Once you realize this, its never too late to change.  Time is like a river. You can’t touch the same water twice, Because the flow that has passed will never pass again.  When there is righteousness in the heart there is beauty in character.  When there is beauty in character there is harmony in the home.  When there is harmony in the home there is orde...

WHAT IS YOUR STAND? (PART II)

Image
4. Instruments are allowed in Christian worship as an aid to the singing. Those who hold this position say that instruments are not, in themselves, intended as an act of worship. They argue that just as we use a song book to aid our singing, and just as we use a loud speaker system, an electronic device, to project the song leader’s voice, we can use a piano or organ to help people sing the right notes. The issue in this argument is whether the playing of instruments in worship is, in itself, an act of worship offered to God, or is simply done to help us to do more effectively something God has told us to do in worship. First, it must be admitted even by those who take this position, that in many instances, instruments are played in worship services intended as an offering of worship to God. Many churches use instruments to play entire pieces of music with no singing at all. Such could hardly be called using instruments as an aid to singing. Others who use instruments ar...

WHAT IS YOUR STAND? (PART- I)

WHERE DO YOU STAND ON INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC? WHERE SHOULD YOU STAND? by Stafford North A useful way to study whether instruments of music are acceptable in Christian worship is to study the various positions taken for and against their use and then to examine each in light of scripture. Below are listed the most widely recognized of these positions, pro and con, and some thoughts on each. A Review of Positions Favoring the Use of Instruments in Christian Worship. 1. Instruments should be used in Christian worship because they are commanded. Those with this view cite Psalm 150:3, for example, which says “make music to Him with tambourine and harp” and 2 Chronicles 29:26 which says they used cymbals, harps, and lyres as “commanded by the Lord through his prophets.” The weakness of this view is that the commands and examples are from the Old Testament plan for worship and not from any teaching for Christian worship. In the Christian age, we do not worship as the Jews di...
