What should we provide to our Children? Part - II
"Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6)Training our children in the way God wants them to be trained is the most important step we can dare. Most of the time our children are well equipped with every standards of the world but in the Christian aspects they are nothing more than just the name "Christian". I personally have witnessed Peter, John & James spending their time in the liquor shop, a big cross on the neck, a Cross tattoo in hand but found drunk in the bar. Mary has recently aborted a child. Martha is a single mother. Jonathan & Jennifer are in a living relationship for a month, after one month same Jonathan accompanies with Juli and Jennifer with another bla bla...
Why all of us encounter this problem? Here is an answer:
"O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps" (Jer 10:23)Every child should be grounded in Christ. Every time he dares to enter the bar, the man inside him should exhort him. The Bible should be presented as mirror, where anyone can see transparently and clearly.
# 3. Provide DISCIPLINE
"The law of the wise is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death". (Proverbs 13:24)Life grows great, only when it is disciplined. When we have discipline at home there is discipline in the community and when there is discipline in the community, there is discipline in the town, when there is discipline in the town, there is discipline in the country. Every good work starts from home. By building up a discipline family, we can avoid future jails. If we really hate jails, stop producing thieves.
A lady regretted to the end of her life for her son, who was hanged because of his robbery. If she would have disciplined the child at the first time when he had brought his friend's pencil, this child would not have developed to be a robber, and ultimately would not be hanged to death.
Discipline is the key to happiness. If we love our children let us start disciplining them.
"For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives." (Heb 12:6)#4. Provide YOURSELF
Try to separate time for your children. In the race of life we forget the most important part, that is the question; for whom am I running in this race? Most of us may have the answer, for my family. If we really want to build a family, we need to be in the family. Until and unless we become one of them, we can never be trusted. To teach them something, first we need to learn to be one of them. Present yourself to the family. The best gift anyone can give to his/her family is presenting yourself.
