WHAT IS INVOLVED IN BAPTISM? II

The Significance of Baptism This present writing is used not as a discussion so much as a compilation and entitling of the scriptures that have to do with baptism. You will get a comprehensive view from God's own presentation of the subject. The text is from the New International Version  of the Bible, with  explanatory notes, as well as comments where the text seems to indicate the need. A Freeing from Sin to Receive the Holy Spirit - Acts 2:37 - 38 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles 'Brothers, what shall we do?' Peter replied 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ so that YOUR SINS MAY BE FORGIVEN and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' A Portrayal of Believing to be Saved - Acts 16:29 - 33  The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. What is involved in Baptism?

We read in Ephesians 4:5 that we were called to one baptism, a fact overlooked or denied by vast numbers of people in christendom. There are numerous ceremonies performed in christendom in the name of baptism: laying a moist hand on the head; sprinkling a little water on the head; pouring water on the heard; total immersion in water; total immersion in running water; immersion in water for those already dead; triple immersion in water (one each for Father, Son and Holy Spirit); immersion in water as an initiation rite into the local congregation; immersion in water as a sign of repentance. Some even claim that an immersion in water is required in order to receive the spiritual gift of speaking unintelligible sounds that are called the gift of 'speaking in tongues'. But the Lord's /Spirit says there is ONE baptism! Baptism is clearly depicted, as well as its purpose and significance in some 25 verses (from Acts and the Epistles) of Scripture. Baptism with the Holy Spirit...

GREAT LOVE FOR THE WORD OF GOD!

Image
Let us simply consider the unbelievable love of an individual for the word of God. After reading this, let us start pondering what have we done for the word of God... "William McPherson was severely injured when a charge of dynamite exploded in front of his face. Although he survived the blast, he lost his eyes, hands and the feeling in parts of his face. He realized how much the Bible meant to him and he greatly needed its strength. He could not read it in Braille because of his artificial hands. He tried to place his lips on the dots but they were numb. He found he could use his tongue to decipher the Moon Type System of dashes. Although the metal left his lips and tongue bleeding and very sore, he prayed to God to help him continue to learn just one letter of the alphabet. In the 65 years that followed, he read the Bible through four times with his tongue. "  What love for the Bible! His example leaves us without excuse... Joseph Khati pay per click advertisin...

Great Statements About the Bible!

T hings which are easily accessible are less valued and are merely given a deep thought into. The inevitable word of God that we have today has been made possible in the ground of myriad sacrifices. Let us have a quick look towards the statements that some of the Independent scholars and well known individual have made in connection to the BIBLE. "The Bible is no mere book, but a living Creature with a power the conquers all that oppose it."              Napoleon   "The whole hope of human progress is suspended on the ever growing influence of the Bible." W.H Seward   "The Bible is the sheet- anchor of our liberties." Ulysses S. Grant   "Bible reading is an education in itself." Alfred Lord Tennyson "I thoroughly believe in a university education; but I believe a knowledge of the Bible without a college education is more valuable than a college course without the Bible." Rousseau   "There are more sure m...
