A Friend to Know

The Cross that saves
Have you ever realised that there is someone who really cares for you and love you more than anyone in the world? Do you know that the God who created the heavens and earth know everything about you? Nothing has ever hidden from the sight of God. Your every pains, your sorrows, the tears that you shed in the darkest of the rooms, the agony, the cloud of trauma that accidentally covered you whole; He know everything. He knows your past, present and your future. When I am talking about the past, please don't tremble with fear, God is not only a judging God but a loving God. He erases all your scars from yesterday, walk with you in the journey of life today and promises not to forsake and leave you in any tides of life.

We all are aware of all the heights of tides which life gifts us but JESUS promises to stand with us in the midst of the storm. He loves you and He has a plan for you. Let us read a story about Jesus and His disciples. One day they all were travelling, Jesus came to a village called Samaria. Jesus sat down by a well to rest while His disciples went to bring some food items.  As Jesus was sitting

there came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."
For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, 'Give Me a drink,' you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
She said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?
"You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?"
Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw."
He said to her, "Go, call your husband and come here."
The woman answered and said, "I have no husband." Jesus said to her, "You have correctly said, 'I have no husband';
for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; this you have said truly."
The woman said to Him, "Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
"Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and you people say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship."
Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father.
"You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews.
"But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshippers.
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming (He who is called Christ); when that One comes, He will declare all things to us."
Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He.
And as you continue reading forward from verse 39 you will find many people believed that Jesus was the Christ, the Saviour. They believed because He knew everything about them. You can read the whole story in the book of gospel of John 4:3-42

We all have that mountains of darkness within us which we think only we do know but there is someone who knows it more clearly than we do and He is Jesus. We can't hide anything from Him. But it doesn't mean that He came to spy on us and feel bad about us. He descended from heaven to earth so that we may ascend from earth to heaven. 2000 Years ago God decided to send His only begotten son to the earth so that He may take away death from us which we deserved.

Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed  (Isaiah 53:4,5)

 Jesus is the answer to all of our needs and of all our questions. He wants to be your friend. He wants to fill that emptiness in your heart. He can replace your fear and unrest with peace and calm.

Jesus says "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." (Matt 11:28)

Invite God into your life and He will transform you into a new being.

May God bless you...
