Choose Life
Moses led the Israelites through the wilderness for forty years. They'd been tried, tested, and come out on the other side. But before they entered the promised land, Moses reviewed the covenant they'd made with God. He reminded them of all God had done for them and encouraged them to teach their children to hold these experiences close to their hearts.
Moses called the Israelites to choose God and not fall away. They could choose life with God, or they could choose disaster and death. It was their choice. Choosing to love, obey, and cling to God is the life Moses sets before them. This life promises blessing, descendants, and a future.
In the big and small decisions we face each day, we're called to choose life. We usually know right away when we've made the wrong decision; it can feel like little death. But God calls us to choose life with God. We're called to love, obey, and cling to God as we navigate our lives. In each decision we have a choice: the way that leads to life or the way that leads to disaster.
